Shooting Colombia

Coming Summer 2009

About Shooting Colombia

This was a journey into the unknown and, the untold. Armed only with cameras, 12 people from different nationalities, backgrounds and walks of life agreed to take part in an experiment, to experience the true Colombia. Told to leave their pre-conceptions at home they documented the truth exactly as they saw it. Witness the unimaginable places, the characters and the experience of a lifetime as they saw it.

This is their story.

Alan and the whole crew:

First of all, I just wanted to thank you and to the rest of travelers who took the risk and opportunity to discover and to show the world what Colombia is all about. I am speechless for what I see but also humble that you were able to capture simple and beautifully in twelve days what many of us have missed to see during our life time. I would like to know if you are planning on editing and making a DVD with the whole journey, I would love to get it and to buy it. You know have a true and unconditional friend in NYC, whenver you may visit.

Thank you,

Daniel

It is really great to be able to show the world a comprehensive idea of the colombian reality: the beautiful places to visit, but also the social problematics and the initiatives to solve them.

And of course, seeing it through the eyes of foreigners gives it and extra point of view, so that it does not only feel like an institutional propaganda to encourage tourism.

Buena idea!! me encanta escuchar los comentarios de extranjeros sobre nuestro pais por que nos hacen reconocer una vez mas, que nuestra tierra es increible.

Job well done although I would've been interested in hearing more about the tourists and their backgrounds. Have they travelled to similar countries? Their likes and dislikes about their adventure. Also, they travelled as a group and think if they would have captured/filmed their experiences as they break up into smaller groups 2-3 people and explored the different sectors of the city that would have been interesting. Agree with most though, that this was a smart and well executed project. Suerte!

These images made me feel that I was back there enjoying all the beautiful places and people. This project made me so proud to be Colombian, and to be proud of the people that still believe in our country.
Definitely, we have a lot of things to show and give.
Thank you for work in constructing a better image of us.
Please never give up.

Delighted to see bright enthusiastic colombians and other citizens of the world, to display a more realistic scene of our loved, but mistreated country.

Loved it!!!
