Shooting Colombia

Coming Summer 2009

About Shooting Colombia

This was a journey into the unknown and, the untold. Armed only with cameras, 12 people from different nationalities, backgrounds and walks of life agreed to take part in an experiment, to experience the true Colombia. Told to leave their pre-conceptions at home they documented the truth exactly as they saw it. Witness the unimaginable places, the characters and the experience of a lifetime as they saw it.

This is their story.

This video is a good example of the basis of Colombia's problems. We are a society more concerned about changing the foreign perception of ourselves than changing the reality itself. Again, here we have a good example of how much we care about image, appeareance, shallowness, forgetting all that is left behind the "beauty" of the "real".

What a shame this video! This looks just like cheap official propaganda. There is no reason for inviting foreigners; the way the rest of the world look at us is the least important of our problems. Even the “misconceptions” they could have are nothing in comparision with the “real” Colombia, which is from far worse. In the real Colombia people cannot even walk down the street with a camera hanging on their arms. The real Colombia cannot be seen through a tourist bus window, nor an interpreter. This project is totally biased, shallow and meaningless for us Colombians and our problems.

Is a great job. To colombian people is important that world wide has a real understanding of their costums and how is the real Colombia.

Great video and great project. Hope this helps to change a lot of the misconceptions about Colombia. Loved the images, brought back a lot of memories. Will be passing this link along to encourage my friends to visit my home country.

What an exciting journey. How did you get invited to it? It seems like a beautiful country with lots of amazing places to visit.
